With the end of Summer right ahead of us, Community First Credit Union and the St Augustine Amphitheatre brought the Night Owl Cinema to a close on Friday night with the beloved movie “Babe.” Along with the movie, guests were treated to amazing balloon animals created by Justin Reams of Twist of Fun Balloon Art.

“ We have had an amazing turn out for most of the summer.” said Community First’s Jennifer Looney. “The parents enjoy the time here and are so grateful to have something free for the family to enjoy.”
“It really brings back the nostalgia.” shared Community First’s, Mark Delaney as he helped his daughter Zoe pass out free gifts for the kids provided by his employer. “We have had 400 or more people at each movie throughout the summer,” he continued. “It has become such an important part of the kid’s summer vacation.”

8 year old Zoe has been coming to this event with her dad for the past three years and according to Delaney has really come out of her shell. “I have watched her grow and each year I am amazed at how much a part of this event Zoe has become.” Delaney shared. “I am really proud of her!”

Zoe, soon to be a third grade student at Osceola Elementary School was a bundle full of energy. “I love to come with my dad and pass out stuff,” Zoe said as she handed out plastic fans to the incoming crowd. “But I am sad about the end of the summer.”

Grandma Cindy enjoys the movie with grandsons Bayden and Justin.

People came from all over to spend their last free weekend with family and friends enjoying the movie. Bayden, Justin and Grandma Cindy came all the way from Palatka to enjoy the movie.
“I told these guys if they were good today they would get to come and see the movie,” said Grandma Cindy and Bayden could barley keep his excitement under control as he waited for the movie to start. When asked how he felt about being at the Amphitheatre he could only shutter a “Great!”

Community First has been sponsoring free events for families around Northeast Florida for years. Along with “Night Owl Cinema”, Community First also sponsors “A Christmas To Remember” in December and are a main sponsor of the Tactile Art Show at the St Augustine Art Association.

“Community First really cares,” said Mary Cay Brock, Branch Manager of Community First Credit Union in St Augustine. Along with the sponsorships, Community First also has a foundation where agencies can apply for funds to continue doing work in the community.

“We love to give back to the community and to our members, That is what we are here for!” Brock exclaimed.
