Maren Morris Musical Journey

Morris and A Musical Journey

On Saturday night at the St Augustine Amphitheatre, Maren Morris humbly took the stage with grace…just a lady and her guitar.

Accompanied by Joe Klems on his guitar, this Texas beauty was all about telling the story of her life with song. Writing tunes since she was 12 years old, Morris is a singer/songwriter who transcends all genera of music be it folk, country, rock, blues and pop. The writing and vocals on “I Wish I Was” were attacked with the grit and the soul of a love lost and her heartfelt alleluia on “My Church” came from deep within.

Morris is a musician’s best friend. Her songwriting talent is to be admired and her singing is to be praised. Not afraid to sing beyond the confines of country music, Morris showed us all what can be accomplished with a set list of just a half a dozen songs. From technique, talent and tell-all, Morris has what it takes to tackle the uphill climb.

Morris’ next tour date will be Austin City Limits Live at Moody Theater. This fresh face on the music scene has some well known people taking notice. The Austin City Limits gig has her singing with the legendary Loretta Lynn. “Take note and watch what happens to that girl,” bragged Little Big Town’s Karen Fairchild. It seems as if Morris is on a mission to bring some good, down-home music to the masses and so far she has succeeded!
