Marine Biology Camp This Summer at Whitney Laboratory

Take the excitement of science into summer with Whitney Lab’s newest Marine Biology Camp. Students in 5th, 6th, and 7th grade are encouraged to join in and discover the Matanzas River Basin. The emerging scientists will learn about biodiversity, while enjoying exciting outdoor field adventures, including an exciting kayak trip on the innercoastal. All activities will take place at the Whitney Laboratory.

The Whitney Laboratory for Marine Bioscience campus is located between the Atlantic Ocean and the Intracoastal Waterway, across the street from Marineland. This University of Florida research institute has scientists from around the world visit to research and discover the waters and marine life around NE Florida. Camp students will participate in educational STEM activities and learn with hands-on lab experiments.

There are still spots available for the June 20-24 session. The camp times are Monday to Thursday from 9 am. to 4 pm. and Friday from 9 am. to 2:30 pm. The cost per camper for the week is $375, which includes a lab tour, instruction, presentation, field and lab activities, kayak trip, snacks, drinks and t-shirt.
