Hundreds came out last Wednesday night for the first Music By The Sea of the 2016 season. Keeping with tradition, the event opened with The Outta Sight Band, from Florida School for the Deaf and Blind. The band Rotageezer continued as the hour became later, giving the student a chance to catch a few zzz’s for school in the morning. Wednesday the food was provided by the Raintree Restaurant.

Now in its 14th year, The Music By The Sea has proven to be a delight for both locals and visitors of the beach. Armed with beach chairs and blankets, people crowded the pavilion, inside and out, to dance the night away or just enjoy the music. Hundreds of people sat in the sand savoring a picnic dinner, a glass of wine and hanging with friends and family. The weather was perfect, with a slight ocean breeze and temps in the 70’s. A walk along the beach and a visit to the oceans edge, or a visit to SPLASH Park was a must for many families with children.

Music by the Sea is a Wednesday night happening, running from now through October 12th. Food is provided by local restaurants, with most dinners costing less than $10. Come early to claim your spot. Enjoy a meal and a walk on the beach before the music starts. The food service begins at 6 pm and the bands play from 7 pm to 9 pm. Park at SAB City Hall or Ron Parker Park and ride the shuttle. Shuttle service is available free for SAB Civic Association members or for nonmembers the cost is $1.00 each way.
