During the month of May relax with yoga and meditation at the Anastasia Island Branch Library. It has been proven that Yoga provides many benefits, from reduced stress to improved strength, energy and flexibility. The yoga sessions are open to all, from beginner to advanced practitioner. Island Yoga with Lenore is scheduled for Thursdays, May 5, 12, 19 & 26 @ 11 AM. This gentle yoga has proven to be a great way to increase flexibility, lower stress, and improve energy. Please wear some comfortable clothing and bring a mat. This class is free, open to the public and offered by Lenore from Welty Wellness. For more information about Island Yoga please contact Lenore at 904.501.5223 or contact weltywellness@gmail.com.

Lotus Yoga will be held on Thursdays, May 5, 12, & 19 @ 3 PM. Another form of yoga, Vinyasa  is a slow flow style yoga, which emphasizes linking mindful movement with the breath. Slow yoga takes the emphasis off accomplishing something and puts it more on experiencing something. Registration and experience are not required. Wear some comfortable clothing and bring a mat or towel to use. This class is free and open to the public. Lotus Yoga is led by Betty Hill, certified Yoga Instructor, and Yoga Alliance registered.

Relax with Essential Oils – Raindrop Technique which will be held on Thursday, May 5 @ 6 PM. Give your feet a treat by experiencing Raindrop Technique. Inspired by the Lakota Indians, Raindrop Technique uses therapeutic oils for balancing and rejuvenating the mind and body. When properly applied to the neck, back, and feet, these essential oils can bring about electrical alignment and help relieve a variety of discomforts caused by imbalances in the body. This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Anastasia Island Branch Library.

St. Augustine Satsang Meditation will be held Tuesdays, May 10 & 24 @ 5 PM. Enjoy some quiet time after a stressful day at work with Satsang Meditation. The St. Augustine Satsang meditates in the style of Eknath Easwaran, which is a traditional style that has been skillfully put into western terms. People from all traditions are welcome, however first-timers are encouraged to attend one of the Introduction to Passage Meditation workshops which will be offered at the Anastasia Island Library on April 30th.

Eknath Easwaran was a spiritual teacher, an author of books on meditation and ways to lead a fulfilling life, as well as a translator and interpreter of Indian literature. Please see the calendar for times and dates of the Passage Meditation workshops. There is no charge for participation. For more information or to let the library staff know you might be coming please contact Sarah Miller: eamil at semiller@flagler.edu or call 904-392-7823.
