The gang from Salt Life was on hand with their signature appetizer the shrimp bro-chette. Winning both first place for their appetizer and best booth display was no surprise. All a diner has to do is look at the restaurant to see the magnificent beach style Salt Life exhibits at their own place.

Celebrating it’s tenth year, the TASTE was first kicked-off by the beaches own Mayor Andrea Samuels and her husband Robert Samuels. This years event was organized by Co-Chairs Barbara Fuldauer Kleisler and Lois Toonder along with the dedicated volunteers, this years TASTE helps the St Augustine Beach Civic Association raise the funds needed to give back to the community in so many various ways.

Bill Jones,President of the St Augustine Beach Civic Association expressed his concern on the impact domestic violence has on a community. When asked about the importance the TASTE event has for the Betty Griffin House Bill responded, “I wish this wasn’t important. There is too much domestic violence in the community and anything we can do we will. As long as we are needed we will be here.”

As the event wrapped up the winners were announced. Winning first place Judges Choice was The Black Fly with their tasty desert. The Peoples Choice was done a different way this year. Each dollar in the jar counted as a vote. After all the money was counted Sunset Grill made sure all their fans-put their money where their mouth was and won Peoples Choice.
