2014 has proven to be a “bang out” year for our own St Augustine Amphitheatre. Along with the headline acts that have performed this year, the St Augustine Amphitheatre has been nominated for two prestigious awards by industry leaders. In recognition of a superior entertainment venue that has had a major economic impact on the surrounding community, this year’s nominations come from the Pollstar Concert Industry Award in the category of Red Rocks Award for Best Small Outdoor Venue and the 2014 Venues Today Hall of Headlines in the category of news.

Pollstar is a trade publication for the concert tour industry and compiles information from agents, mangers and promoters who produce concerts. In 1984, Pollstar held the first Pollstar Concert Industry Awards. The awards honor artists, management, venues and those involved in the entertainment industry for their professionalism, achievements and abilities. In 1984 Pollstar announced its first award winners, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band. The band was recognized for Major Tour of the Year and ironically have once again been nominated in 2014. As always, winners are determined by votes from the international readership of Pollstar. In the twenty five year history of the Awards, the categories have grown. If you are one of the thousands of people who have enjoyed a concert this year at the Amphitheatre you may agree, it is no surprise the St Augustine Amphitheatre has been included in the nominations for Best Small Outdoor Venue.
